After a blockbuster like Sardar, expectations were naturally high for the sequel. Unfortunately, Sardar 2ends up feeling like a completely unnecessary sequel. The biggest question after watching the film is simple — why was this movie even made?
The basic story idea actually has good potential on paper. There was enough scope to turn it into an engaging action thriller, but the execution completely lets it down. The screenplay is the biggest drawback. With a runtime of almost three hours, the film feels painfully stretched and tests your patience throughout.
Even the performances don’t help much. Almost every actor goes overboard, making several scenes feel unnecessarily loud rather than intense. The same goes for the background score, which is extremely noisy and adds more headache than impact. Use of AI and VFX is worst.
Director could have made a much better film with this core idea, but poor writing and disastrous execution turn Sardar 2 into a clear example of how not to make a sequel.
Overall, Sardar 2 is a tiring and frustrating watch that fails to justify its existence despite having a promising idea.
A headache of a sequel. Better skip it!
