A Dull and Outdated Period Drama👎
The only positives in the entire film are the Yendhayya Saami song👍 and Rashmika’s chapter in the first half👍. Apart from these, almost everything tests your patience👎🤦🏻♂️
Vijay Deverakonda has clearly put in his efforts, but the Ranabaali character doesn’t suit him at all👎. Mass appeal should come naturally, and unfortunately, VD fails to bring that impact on screen👎. He is far more convincing in rom-coms, and it’s high time he focuses on roles that suit his strengths. Rashmika, on the other hand, delivers a good performance despite her limited screen time👌. Music is a major disappointment👎, and the dull BGM makes things even worse👎
Coming to director Rahul, he fails right from the script level👎. How many more films are we going to see with the same British oppression, labour torture, brutal violence and rebellion formula? This template has been done to death👎👎 For God’s sake, TFI directors need to move on from these outdated stories🙏🏻🙏🏻
Especially, the repeated torture of pregnant women and excessive bloodshed in the name of generating emotions need to stop🤮🤮. Such scenes don’t automatically create emotional impact. Without proper writing and emotional connection, they only become disturbing and irritating to watch😡
Neither the action sequences nor the emotional portions make any impact👎. The screenplay is painfully flat, the narration is lifeless, and the entire film moves at a snail’s pace👎. Even on OTT, it would be difficult to sit through such a boring narrative👎.
Director Rahul completely misses the mark with both his writing and execution👎. There is hardly a single engaging moment apart from the few positives mentioned earlier👎.
Overall: A terribly boring and outdated period drama with zero emotional impact and a painfully dull screenplay👎👎. A complete disappointment👎👎
Verdict: A Big Disappointment. Skip It!🙏🏻🙏🏻
